Cook Naked

Naked Cooking at PassionateReads.com

Introduction from Nara Malone:

Dangerous. That’s the word my family uses to describe my cooking skills.
Some people take cooking to the level of art. I was never one of those people. Maybe that’s why I love men who cook. Master Bond, the main character in mynovel, The Dungeon Gourmet, turned up in my head the day after a particularly stressful Thanksgiving. Bond’s take on the culinary arts gave me a whole new outlook on the joys of cooking. I’ll share that outlook here in our Cook Naked column. Every other Thursday he’ll be serving up something special with authors or characters from novels who share his love of a little kink in the kitchen.

I’ll let Bond explain his “Cook Naked” philosophy.

Introduction from Le Marquis de Bond:

Ah, I know what you were thinking. This is not about that. Not cooking unclothed. Cook Unencumbered. Cook without rules. Abandon restrictive procedures.

I see some cooking instructions: “Beat 200 strokes.” Ridiculous! Do you do this with your favorite plaything? Would you make a list of penalties for each infraction? I think no. You taste her mood, feel her tremble in your hands, then you know just what spice to add, a pinch here, a lick there, a different recipe each time.

Absolument no measuring. Numbers, they are for reproducing! Not creating. Not the way to perfection. And perfection, perfection is only perfect at one instant in time. What worked then must be tweaked into a new perfection for next time. You can’t reproduce. You can rediscover.

Yes, sometimes I write numbers when I talk about cooking. They are training wheels. A place for the timid to start.

I stick to working naked, using all the senses to feel my way through what I create. Each creation is a new journey. That is what we do here with our Naked Cooking column, feel our way toward our perfect creations.

Go cook something up, mes amis. Take the chance. Be bold. Discover your perfection. And visit here each Thursday to see what Le Marquis de Bond is whipping up in the dungeon kitchen.

Until next time.

~Bond

Whew! I’ve never been much of a cook, but if BOND is in the kitchen, I’m definitely psyched to learn whatever he’s teaching!

WOW! That’s how I feel when I cook! I’ve been asked many a time how I know what to add, when to add it and how much and it’s true, you just feel it! When the scents curl around you and caress yourr senses, they speak to you, perhaps at times sinfully hum to you in a way that’s unexplainable. The result? A dish that yes, is slightly different each time, but good nonetheless. My family likes my cooking and say when I get married my hubby will be a happy man. lol I just love to cook and enjoy treating people to a good meal. I couldn’t have explained it any better than Bond just did! Hats off to you!
