A Fairy Tale for the Modern Princess…

22 Oct guardian-fairy - Copy

Hello my darlings!

It’s been a crazy couple of weeks, ( like that’s anything new for me?) and so I’m a little late in getting my post up.

I consider myself a fairly modern woman and I ran across something this morning that  made me smile.

We all want the “Fairy Tale”… the happy ending, if you will.

As writers, we have the ability to create as many happily-ever-afters as we want.

Having said that, I also came across a HP Fanfic titled  “The Headmaster’s Wife” that provides a TON of smutty happiness (and a great story as well!) for quite a few characters.

If you’re interested, here’s the link:

Also… check out Shadowling Manor for news, teasers and excerpts from the “Passion’s Portal” novels from Ellora’s Cave. This is the place where the fairy tale meets the modern woman!

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the delightfully snarky take on the traditional “Frog Prince” fable below.

Wishing everyone a Happy Monday!

Breathless Anticipation

2 Jul

Is there anything hotter than the awareness that an orgasmic event is getting closer and closer? In fact, without a building anticipation, the climax can turn out to be anti-climactic. However, when it comes to the release of a new book, I find the longer the waiting time, the harder it is to stay excited about it. But that has not been the case with the book I have coming out this week.

Perhaps because SERVING NICOLE is part of a new multi-author creative effort, the orgy-like foreplay has been more arousing than usual. Or maybe it is simply that my waiting time has been filled with the exhausting distraction of moving cross-country. Either way, I am dancing-on-the-table excited about the release of this story. The paranormal erotic romance series is called Passion’s Portal and centers around the mysterious Shadowling Manor, goddess power and Magick! Witches and wizards, werewolves, shifters, dragons and selkies… Shadowling Manor is an Equal Opportunity Paranormal Environment. Every room has a secret, every portrait a history, and any door just might be a portal to another realm.

SERVING NICOLE comes out with a bang on the 4th of July and the accompanying, interactive website, http://www.passionsportal.com, promises to bring some fireworks to the celebration!

Nicole Claret’s uncontrolled empathic abilities forced her into a solitary life. Though occasionally consumed with sexual need, self-service has been her only option. When her intuition draws her to Shadowling Manor, she receives an all-or-nothing choice about her future. She can have a “normal”, ungifted life or embrace every aspect of a magickal existence, including using sex to manifest power.

Her challenge is delivered by Brett Donahue, a gorgeous, high-level wizard whose specialty is sex magick. He uses his unique talents to teach her how to control her abilities and prepare for her destiny…but he holds back one huge secret until it’s too late for her to change her mind.

                    SERVING NICOLE

Prologue

The Goddess of Alchemy took her place at the top of the pentagram. The four other Elemental Goddesses had already taken their positions, waiting, feeling, anticipating the ritual ahead. A warm breeze filtered through the temple and ruffled the silken robes the women wore. Green, yellow, red, blue and white, a color for each of the elements. Earth, air, fire, water, and the binding element, alchemy.

She began the ritual by stating the purpose of the gathering. “A lost daughter needs our guidance to find her destiny. We must open the portals of Shadowling and draw her there.”

Five members of the Brotherhood approached and stood behind the Goddesses. Brown muslin wrapped the men in secrecy. With practiced precision, each removed the robe of the woman before him.

At the first sensuous touch, the Goddess of Alchemy’s eyelids closed. Light as feathers, her consort’s fingertips trailed down her body, Continue reading

I’m helping someone move this weekend, and it brought back memories of my own move alst July.

My blog for that weekend was “Stipper Poles and Sex on the Dining Room Table” .

Since I have to meet the moving truck shortly, I don’t have time to “reminisce”, but here’s the link if you want to see what “Stripper poles” had to do with my move… and why a particular someone is NOT helping with this move :-)

A Hard WET Ride

6 May

Oh pul-leeze! Get your mind out of the GUTTER.  I was talking about yesterday’s Kentucky Derby.  :-)

Seriously, it was a hard, wet ride for all of the horses, with the high temp and humidity working horses and humans alike into quite a “lather” before the race even started. Bodemeister held the lead through most of the race, but in the end, “I’ll Take Another” won the roses.

Mint Julips, anyone?

Now, let’s REALLY talk about being ridden hard… Continue reading

Sex Magick + Female Power = Passion’s Portal

1 May

Do you prefer to do it alone or do you have more fun in a group?

Of course, your answer, like mine, may vary depending on the activity. A few months ago, I was invited to participate in a group writing project by Brandi Evans and Nara Malone, two other Passionate Reads bloggers. Although my usual preference is to work independently, their idea really appealed to me and we were quickly joined by two more of our bloggers, Shannon Emmel and Charlotte Stein.

Over the next couple months the five of us easily overcame the challenges of living in different time zones and having different ideas. I am very pleased to say that through the entire creation, production and submission process, no one was inflexible, tried to take control or slack off.  Since this was my first time with such a project, I don’t know if our experience was common among women writers or if we were exceptionally lucky to have come together as we did, but I am anxious to continue the special relationship we formed in the process.

If you’ve had a group writing experience, good or bad, please feel free to share by commenting below.

The end result is that our group project, PASSION’S PORTAL, has been approved for development as a paranormal, erotic romance series at Ellora’s Cave. The stories will be individually written but tied together by the Sisterhood of the Elemental Goddesses and Shadowling Manor, a spooky old mansion on the northeast coast of Maine. Witches, wizards and warlocks, werewolves, shifters, dragons and selkies… Shadowling Manor is an Equal Opportunity Paranormal Environment. Every room has a secret, every portrait a history, and any door just might be a portal to another realm. Sex magick is at the core of the Sisterhood’s power and the energy created during sexual activity is what keeps Shadowling’s portals open.

In hopes of intriguing you to stay tuned for release updates, here are some teasers of the first five books –

Serving Nicole, by Marilyn Campbell (Alchemy)

Nicole Claret’s abilities as an empath began awakening at puberty, and by the time she was in college, the intuitive gift had turned her into a human lie detector. That quality made her a successful private investigator but resulted in her choosing a very solitary personal life. Though occasionally consumed with sexual need, celibacy has been her only option.

At Shadowling Manor, she is promised a solution to her self-imposed isolation and celibacy. Her challenge and tutelage await her in the form of Brett Donahue, a high-level wizard whose specialty is Continue reading

Sexy Male Bunnies…The Reprise

8 Apr

“Oh Yummy…White and Dark Chocolate Easter Sundae Sexy ( Male) Bunnies” was the title of my post LAST Easter Sunday and it has been one of my most popular to date. It started out like this:

Yeah…just give me a spoon  and some whipped creme coz they BOTH look good enough to eat!

For those of you who have been following my blog, you know that I do at least make an effort to tie it into writing…on some level.   This week I  had a list of good intentions and good writing tips and then it  hit me.

That’s when I realized that my post would fall on “Easter Sunday” and, setting aside any and all serious or religious connotations, my mind went directly to (what else?)

 Chocolate Easter Bunnies!

Then it went straight… into…the gutter.

I thought of “Playboy” bunnies and, being a healthy, red-blooded female past the legal age of consent, my mind wandered next to their sexy male counterparts.

Before I knew it, visions of nearly naked men proudly displaying their bow-ties and cuffs,  and those irresistible tails that you can’t keep from reaching out and grabbing onto (uh-hummm…those would be the tails conveniently located at the front side instead of the back side),  danced through my head like sugarplum faeries…

LOL…If you want to see where it headed after THAT , here’s the quick link to that blog:

Oh YUMMY Easter Blog

On this Easter Morning, I’d like to share with everyone something equally as “yummy”, a little project some of your “Passionate Reads” authors have been working on!

I am extrememly pleased to announce that EC has just approved a new series that takes place in coastal Maine at Shadowling Manor.

The name of the series is “PASSIONS PORTAL” and the select few that are mystically drawn to Shadowling Manor pass through magickal portals  and are swept into exotic locations and erotic paranormal encounters that rate off the scale on the “Sizzle Chart”.

The authors participating with the first 5 books in this series are Brandi Evans, Nara Malone, Marilyn Campbell, Charlotte Stein and moi, Shannon Emmel so we hope you will check back for more news and info including titles, release dates and steamy hot covers!

We have tons of fun stuff planned for this series that is still in the works, including a Continue reading

Hot Jocks, Lettermen and Chipmunks

15 Jan

Today is a writing day, starting with this blog! (Hot Jocks included!)

After that it’s “nose to the grindstone” to make up time for getting wined and dined, doctored, cleaning house and getting “Chipwrecked” with my grandson, instead of writing.

Oh— and of course, we can’t forget the day job which ended the two week gap since my last blog with a sold out performance by “The Lettermen” and I have to say, they were amazing!

The beautiful voices of the singing trio, The Lettermen, first hit the music charts in 1961 with “The Way You Look Tonight” and subsequent albums gave us memorable hits like “Theme From A Summer Place”, “Up, Up and Away”, “Hurt So Bad”, “Cherish / Precious And Few”, “Put Your Head On My Shoulder,” and their most requested hit, “Goin’ Out Of My Head / Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”.

Now as far as The Lettermen go, they started their career the year I was born, so they weren’t part of my high school memories, but Lettermen jackets and “School Letters” were. You always saw the girls wearing their boyfriend’s Lettermen jackets or sweaters as a status symbol. (“Hey! I’m with HIM!…can’t you just die?!!!”)

My ex-husband may have been the “King of the Jocks”, but I earned my own letters in high school, thank you very much!

Yes, we gals could earn our own letters but somehow that never came across as “cool”.  I think I’ll blame “Grease” for that, though I DID love it when the tables turned and “Sandy” showed up in leather and “Danny” is the boy next door in his Rydell lettermen sweater.

Gotta love a gal in leather…but then again that’s ONLY if you’re VERY good and she decides you deserve a reward! :-)

Did ya ever wonder how long it took Sandy to fall from grace after her introduction to leather and the dark side?

Ever wonder if Danny respected her in the morning? Continue reading
