‘Everything To Him’ by Elizabeth Coldwell

What do you give the man who has everything? The opportunity to spend a week sharing his wife with a hot young journalist.

Felix Meredith has everything. The owner of a multi-media company worth billions, he’s come a very long way from the boy who started a record company in his university dorm room. He owns properties on three continents and his sex life with his wife, Amber, is as hot and inventive as it’s ever been. But despite all that, he’s still bored, and in need of a new challenge.

When Felix is contacted by Josh Broughton, who writes for glossy weekly magazine Glitz! and wants to profile him in depth, he’s initially reluctant, but invites Josh over to his home for a preliminary chat out of courtesy. Josh turns out to be anything but the average hack—he’s young and attractive, and it’s obvious from the moment that Josh and Amber meet that there’s a sexual spark between them.

Much to his surprise, Felix isn’t angered by it—if anything, he’s turned on, fantasising about Josh having sex with Amber while he watches. He decides that he’ll let Josh into their life for a week, and the lad will get unrestricted access to everything for that time—including Amber.

What follows promises to be the most unforgettable week of their lives, as Felix, Josh and Amber explore all the things two men can do to a woman in bed, and Josh is given a unique insight into what it’s really like to have everything.

‘Lucky for Him’ by Rachel Randall

Take the risk to win the prize.

Industry rumours whisper that Argentinian billionaire Renzo Vega has invested in a secret project known only as ‘Lucky’. Eager for his next challenge, entrepreneur Rob Ray tracks Renzo to his luxury yacht. Rob’s determined to get in on the deal, so when Renzo refuses to meet with him, he stows away on the ship.

Soon Rob’s sailing into uncharted waters with the most charismatic man he’s ever met. And as the Mediterranean heat intensifies, he discovers that Lucky’s not only real, she’s a sexy ex-hacker with a talent for pushing all of his buttons.

She and Renzo want Rob to be their onboard entertainment. Now Rob just has to survive their attentions long enough to close the deal—and to make it back to port in one piece.

‘Pleasure for Him’ by Jan Springer

Billionaire Ryland Walton wants to give his girlfriend, Lily, a gift of pleasure that only more than one man can give to a woman.

Billionaire Spa-franchise owner Ryland Walton wants to give his girlfriend, Lily, a gift of pleasure that only more than one man can give to a woman.

When interior decorator Lily Tiffany receives a diamond-encrusted key with an invitation to a private island estate, she’s both nervous and excited that her sexy boyfriend is once again surrendering her to his dark desire of sharing her with another man.

‘Submitting to Him’ by Alysha Ellis

Elise loves her husband. He shares her with a handsome, dominating stranger.

Billionaire Blair Cowdery and his wife Elise travel the world seeking new pleasures. On the island of Santorini their status ensures they get the personal attention of their hotel’s handsome young manager, Nick Zervelos.

Blair’s pleasure is to share his beautiful wife with someone who appreciates her special gifts. Nick’s masterful nature makes it plain he is such a man. Blair soon discovers he and Nick share an interest in bondage and rope play.

Together Blair and Nick show Elise the pleasure of submission and the freedom that comes from being bound.

The two men work together, orchestrating a series of heated sexual encounters. They take Elise to a new space, pushing her limits. They teach her that in losing herself she will discover her true identity.

By the time the game of dominance and submission is played out, Blair, Nick and Elise are bound with ties too strong to resist.

‘Cuffed to Him’ by Cerise DeLand

Joanna Carter needs a scintillating interview from hunky, jet-setting billionaires, Giff and Josh Spencer. When they show her their island—and their dungeon—Jo knows it’s folly to resist.

Joanna Carter earned—and carelessly dashed—a reputation as a hard-driving journalist. Now she has a chance to resurrect her career by interviewing her childhood friends and billionaire brothers, Giff and Josh Spencer. The men were once her next door neighbors. Now, they have bad press as playboys and Jo figures they need her as much as she needs them.

But when they fly Jo to their private island, dumping her laptop, her camera, and her tape recorder, they cuff her and usher her into their private dungeon. Then they thrill her with replays of their loving when all of them were young.

Yet now that they are older, is it wise to resurrect the BDSM and menage that fulfilled them? And what happens to Jo’s career if she throws over a good interview for lots of their good loving?

Should a woman give up everything for two men who once meant the world to her?

‘Yielding for Him’ by Lauren Fraser

Sometimes in order to have it all you have to be willing to risk everything.

Self-made billionaire Donovan James works hard and plays harder. After all life is no fun without risks. But finding a woman who agrees has been more difficult than he’d ever imagined, until now.

Lisa Scott knows how to get what she wants and what she wants is a life with Van. They belong together and she’ll do whatever it takes to make him realize it. Including taking him up on his challenge to invite his best friend, Jason, into their bed for one night.

She’ll give him his fantasy and in return, hopefully, she’ll get hers.

X-cerpt

14 Oct

While dealing with the worst move in history, I’ve changed my mind about my next writing project at least a dozen times! The X-rated excerpt below is the beginning of an erotica–DEEP CICI DIVING–that just keeps “floating” to the top, so I thought I’d share it with Passionate Reads blog & see if I get a reaction one way or the other. (If you’re under eighteen, please skip on out of here now.)

                                                    * * * * *

“We hope you’ll accept the position, Cici. There’s a big step down between you and our second choice.”

Dr. Cecilia Ryder controlled her outward physical reactions, but inside she was doing cartwheels around the penthouse office suite. The opportunity to be part of such an endeavor was incredible. It was also very nice to be assured that at the end of two years, the financial bonus would give her the freedom to do whatever she chose afterward. However, those were not the thoughts making her wet with desire.

Cici clenched her thighs and leaned slightly forward to show Barron Donaldson he’d piqued her interest. Among numerous other enterprises, he was the Chairman of the Board of the second largest pharmaceutical company in the world and, if she was correctly reading his expression, he believed this new project would earn them the top spot.

“Tell me….” As he responded to her husky command, she tucked a loose strand of dark auburn hair behind her ear, moistened her lips and noted how his gaze followed the movement then lingered on her mouth. She had no doubt his thoughts were flashing back to the evening they’d met. She certainly would never forget it. Continue reading

I’m helping someone move this weekend, and it brought back memories of my own move alst July.

My blog for that weekend was “Stipper Poles and Sex on the Dining Room Table” .

Since I have to meet the moving truck shortly, I don’t have time to “reminisce”, but here’s the link if you want to see what “Stripper poles” had to do with my move… and why a particular someone is NOT helping with this move :-)

How to Build a Galaxy – Guest Blogger Tina Christopher

23 Apr

The Passionate Reads authors are pleased to welcome today’s guest blogger, Tina Christopher

How to Build a Galaxy

Most authors fall into two categories: plotters, authors who outline every part of the story in fine detail, and pantsers, authors who fly by the seat of their pants. I’m a planster, a mixture between the two. I need an outline and need to know what the next big point is, but I’m never quite sure how my characters arrive there.

I also love to travel and had the pleasure of visiting and living in some amazing countries. Thinking about all the different cultures and ways of life I’ve had the opportunity to observe helped tremendously as I built my galaxy.

When planning, my favourite question is “What If?”

I have always enjoyed science fiction and fantasy, both urban and epic. When I started to play around with the outline for Tangled Shadows, I asked myself: What if I take a Vampire, a typical urban fantasy creature, and put him into space?

The question reminded me of how I felt when I arrived in the veldt of Hoedspruit, South Africa, but unlike me Nikolai took to space like fish to water right from the start. Even in space, he still had the same character traits: On the outside, he appeared charming and easygoing, but Nikolai had a darker temper and a dominant streak a mile wide underneath.

What if I put him together with his opposite? It would be like mixing my straightforward and direct early German upbringing with the very contained and controlled Japanese way of life. It would take a saint to put up with Nikolai’s dominance, so I went into the direction of an angelic creature. I didn’t want to be bound by angelic conventions, and there was this flicker of an idea at the back of my mind for a potential future story. My Naemas have power and strength (and the most beautiful wings that are great fun during sex), but they also battle with their Gifts and live in an isolationist society.

To balance Nikolai’s darker edge, Galen needed to be less volatile and more grounded. He needed to portray some of the flexibility and adjustability I learned when I moved to England. Also, his upbringing had given him an extraordinary amount of self-control.

What if these two men fall in love? How much fun could I have with breaking Galen’s control?

Who else inhabits my galaxy?

Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world. I wanted my universe to mirror that, even if I didn’t show all the species in the first book. I’m a big fan of Dr. Who and he always laughs and says something along the lines of humans being everywhere. My third would be human.

I needed a way to balance the immense power of Vampires and Naemas with the physically weaker humans. By giving my Paranormals a low birth rate and longevity and humans the dominant population, I had humans in a position of power. Their sheer numbers could overwhelm the more powerful Paranormals.

Now, what if I have two powerful men and a human woman who defies all expectations? Brooke would not see herself as anything special. She’s just a space captain with a strong sense of responsibility.

What if she lost three days of her life, three days in which her ship explodes and she appears to be the only survivor? She’d have to deal with the loss of her ship and crew and the settlers on board. All of them presumed dead, except for her. Suspicious personalities like Galen and Nikolai may ask a question or two. Especially if they know that the Ferals, nasty Vampires who won’t bow down to human rules, have been kidnapping humans as blood slaves. A ship full of settlers? An all you can eat buffet.

And that was the point where Brooke, Galen and Nikolai took over and ran with my ideas. But to build their story (and galaxy) I needed the all-important question: What If?

What “What If?” question would you like to read about in a story?

Thank you so much for having me. It’s been a lot of fun.

Tangled Shadows blurb:

After losing not only her ship but also three days of her memory in a freak explosion, Space Captain Brooke Deverell wants only to forget her troubles for one amazing night and fulfill her wildest fantasy.

She gets that and more from Vampire Nikolai and ArchNaema Galen. The men have long been lovers and welcome her into their world of extraordinary sensuality. For one blissful night, Brooke believes she’s found her soul mates—but her happiness is short lived when she realizes she’s actually been kidnapped. The men hunted her down under the assumption she sold her crew and human cargo to Feral Vampires as blood slaves.

After realizing her amnesia is real and of a paranormal nature, they find themselves at an impasse. To prevent a galaxy-wide war they must work together. The three discover their sensual partnership can heal her mind. But for a complete and successful union, Brooke has to decide if she can forgive the initial deception and open her heart to the two men who stir her blood and her heart.

Now that’s my kind of candy

6 Apr

With it being Easter weekend my kids are getting amped up for the candy so I thought the Easter bunny should grace the blog as well but with some grown up candy, yep you guessed it EYE CANDY. Yum. Since my new book Rode Hard released last Friday it seemed appropriate for the guys to be cowboys.

Blurb

Six weeks surrounded by hot, rugged cowboys doesn’t sound like hard work at all. In fact, writer Kat McCray is going to enjoy this assignment. One look at sexy ranch owner Justin Shaw and she knows exactly how she plans to spend her downtime. In his bed.

Justin works hard and has the body to prove it. And he plays even harder—him and his two best friends. He’s more than happy to help Kat explore her darkest fantasies…especially the ones that involve all four of them.

Kat’s walk on the wild side is only temporary—Arizona is a lifetime away from her real life in New York. But she can’t deny she’s starting to fall for Justin. He’s sexy as hell and sweet as sin. And their sexual experiences with his two friends are nothing short of scorching. That doesn’t change the fact she’s going home at the end of her stay. Unless she can somehow turn this fantasy into reality.

Quirks and Foibles and Oddities, oh my!

20 Mar

The Passionate Reads authors are pleased to welcome today’s guest blogger, Cassandra Carr, author of COLD AS ICE.

Have you ever read a book and thought, “Wow, this character is so interesting!” or the reverse, “I’m going to fall asleep if this character is actually this boring.” What causes these reactions?

A lot of things, most likely, but one of those things is the little unique pieces of a character’s personality. Maybe it’s a police officer who collects rare stamps, or a smokin’ hot heroine who raises beagles. How about a villain with no sense of direction? All these personality traits make characters come alive. Without any quirks whatsoever the author runs the risk of writing cookie cutter characters.

You can go too far with this as a writer, too, though. If your character has too many quirks they can sound like a cartoon, not a human. Humans aren’t perfect. Humans have faults and they do strange things. But when it comes down to it, they are human and should sound, look and act human.

Let’s look at some foibles of well-known characters/people:

 - Snoopy: used to pretend he was the Red Baron

- Sherlock Holmes: doesn’t go anywhere without his pipe

- Walter Cronkite: closed every broadcast with “Good Night and Good Luck”

- The Fonz: can bump the jukebox, a car, etc. and make it work

If you’re a writer, do you use these quirks, foibles, and oddities to make your characters come alive? If you’re a reader, do you appreciate characters with these personality traits? Is there a quirk you thought was brilliant? One that was overdone?
